Sam Caswell, 25, is a campus student who lives with a rare genetic condition known as Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS). Diagnosed as a baby, doctors didn’t expect him to read or be in a mainstream classroom. After 38 lifetime surgeries and having to relearn how to walk, talk and read in the middle of his program, he beat the odds and earned his bachelor’s degree with a near perfect GPA. With the skills he learned in his communications program, his dream is to become a motivational speaker.
